Autograph Tips

GENERAL TIPS:
Getting to the Event/Waiting in Line:
-Go to autograph signings and Fan Fests early for a better
autograph (fresher ink supply) and a quick exit.
-Bring a camera to make sure you get a photo.
-Bring a folding camping chair. (beats the pavement)
-Bring a buddy.
-Bring book/DS/ipod to kill time.

The Autograph & Sharpie Suggestions:
-Bring your own pens/sharpies.
-Bring an item to have signed unless one is provided.
-Baseballs: blue ball point pen.
-Baseball bats: black or blue sharpie for blonde bat and silver
sharpie for black bats.
-Photos: Black/blue sharpie if light background, but silver
usually looks best on photos.
-Basketballs: silver sharpie, but autograph balls with a white
panel are great to really get a clean auto.

Paid vs. Free Signings
-Paid signings are typically expensive and prices usually vary by player.
-You will usually buy a ticket online and then show up to the event at a certain
time, so there's less waiting involved than at a free signing.
-It's going to be quick. A quick hello, item gets signed, picture snapped and you're out.
-Free signings are going to have longer lines and may have restrictions on
items that you can have signed.

Autograph Storage Suggestions:
-Check out The Container Store and Michael's for various display cases
-Try to get cases that offer UV protection
-Keep autographed items in a cool, dark place and away from direct sunlight.
